As Canada’s premier wedding photographer, we often get the fantastic opportunity to work with brides and grooms on more than one occasion. We had such an opportunity with celebrated Canadian Olympic soccer player Jonelle Filigno and her husband Russ Hopkins. Their romantic Los Cabos Destination wedding was held at the breathtaking Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. The resort’s exquisite cobblestone, clay and tile work and vibrant aquamarine waves made it the perfect venue for Jonelle and Russ to hold a truly swanky and romantic wedding.
Destination Wedding in Los Cabos
A destination wedding in Los Cabos is a dream come true—golden sunsets, soft sandy beaches, and breathtaking ocean views. For this beautiful couple, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf and Spa Resort was the perfect place to say “I do.” Nestled on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this luxury resort offers a stunning mix of beachfront beauty and elegant charm, making it one of the best wedding venues in Cabo.
Jonelle and Russ’s wedding had the perfect harmonious blend of elegance, luxury, sentimental and emotional touches all through out the day. Their outfits and decor were chic and classic and offset the natural beauty of the resort flawlessly. Jonelle was a vision in a crisp white gown with delicate pink tones that was designed by the couture fashion label Galia Lahav. Russ as well cut a fine figure in his classically tailored look that was beautifully completed with the addition of a custom pair of cufflinks that were fashioned out of buttons from the uniform of his cherished late father’s Fire Marshal’s uniform. Jonelle and Russ’s heartfelt and touching ceremony had further elegant and traditional touches showcased in their ceremony space. The space boasted a charming chuppah draped with soft white chiffon that had a brilliant crystal chandelier attached to its centre.
Los Cabos and more specifically the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort was a paradise to behold for this desitnation wedding. Wedding editorial photographers like us dream of shooting in locales like this. We were able to capture shots that perfectly encapsulated the beautiful paradise we were in and the poignant love between Jonelle and Russ. Some of our favourite shots we captured were some soft and romantic editorial portraits of Jonelle and Russ on the beach. The white sands of the beach, the calm aquamarine water coupled with the touching love that Jonelle and Russ have for one another resulted in awe inspiring wedding editorial shots. It is shots like these and couples like Jonelle and Russ that keep our joy of being wedding editorial photographers going strong.
Jonelle and Russ are always an absolute dream to work with. Their creative, industrious, and warm nature made each and every shot we captured a masterpiece to behold. Their families and close friends ( including Jonelle’s Women’s Canadian Soccer Team teammates) were equally as charming and lovely to work with.
